The role of a Service Technician at USS is essential to the daily operations and overall customer satisfaction. This position involves operating a company service vehicle to travel to various locations where the technician services, pumps, and cleans portable restrooms and/or holding tanks in accordance with company standards. The Service Technician functions at the core of the business, combining technical service tasks with direct customer interaction. Responsibilities include driving service trucks safely under both USS and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, performing physical duties such as lifting, stooping, kneeling, and pushing heavy loads (between 50 and 150 pounds), and maintaining high safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries. Technicians execute services meeting USS’s specific 8-point service criteria, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and functionality for portable units.
Customer service is a key element of the role, requiring the Service Technician to engage positively on-site to confirm that services meet customer expectations. Flexibility is important as work routes may need adjustment to fulfill customer needs efficiently. Technicians also contribute feedback on routing and service strategy to operational leaders to optimize service delivery and ensure customers’ current and future needs are anticipated and met. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and time management abilities. Physically demanding tasks are common, making physical fitness and stamina important for success in this position.

Job Qualifications
- minimum two years of commercial driving experience
- valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
- excellent time management, customer service and communication skills
- strong problem-solving and decision making skills
Job Duties
- perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
- perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
- perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- perform lifting/pushing between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
- conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
- perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
- ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes needs to be adjusted or changed
- provide routing feedback to Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible
- ability to strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet needs, so the customer's current and future needs are satisfied
