The role of Service Technician at USS is a critical position that sits at the heart of the company’s operations. The Service Technician operates a company service truck and is responsible for driving to different sites to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms and holding tanks. This hands-on role requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and efficiency. The position includes a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.49 to $26.32, reflecting experience, skills, and geographic location. In addition to the base pay, the company offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates, paid out in four installments over 12 months, enhancing the compensation package.
Service Technicians must perform tasks in accordance with USS and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety standards, ensuring safe operations without accidents or injuries. The job involves physical activities such as sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting weights between 50 and 150 pounds regularly during shifts. The technician conducts portable toilet servicing following USS’s stringent 8-point service standard while interacting professionally with customers to ensure services meet and exceed expectations. Flexibility is key, as the technician may need to adjust service routes to meet customer needs efficiently. They also provide valuable routing feedback to supervisors and play a strategic role in planning for both current and future portable toilet needs of customers.

Job Requirements
- minimum two years of commercial driving experience
- valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
- sit while driving and stand while servicing products
- use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls
- repeat the same movements
- see details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance
- speak clearly so customers can understand
- understand the speech of another person
- hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
- walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion
- enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
- lift up to 40lbs from your waist to your shoulders
- lift 30lbs from the floor to your head
- crouch and squat
- push 100lbs and pull 100lbs horizontally
Job Qualifications
- minimum two years of commercial driving experience
- valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
- excellent time management, customer service and communication skills
- strong problem-solving and decision making skills
Job Duties
- perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
- perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
- perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- perform lifting/pushing between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
- conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
- perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
- ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes needs to be adjusted or changed
- provide routing feedback to operations manager/supervisor/coordinator to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible
- ability to strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet needs, so the customer’s current and future needs are satisfied
