Service Technicians operate company service trucks to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms and holding tanks at various job sites and special events. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.56 to $25.06, reflective of geographical location, skills, and experience. Additionally, new hires receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus distributed in equal installments over one year, highlighting USS’s commitment to attracting and retaining top talent.
In this role, technicians must adhere to strict safety protocols in compliance with USS and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, ensuring no accidents or injuries occur on the job. The job demands physical activity including lifting and pushing weights between 50 and 150 pounds, along with various movements such as standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Technicians also engage in direct customer interactions to verify quality service and communicate effectively about customer needs and expectations.
Service Technicians are expected to be adaptable to changing routes and schedules in response to customer demands, providing feedback to supervisors to optimize operational efficiency. Job Requirements
- Sit while driving and stand while servicing products
- Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls
- Repeat the same movements
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance
- Speak clearly so customers can understand
- Understand the speech of another person
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
- Walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion
- Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
- Lift up to 40lbs from your waist to your shoulders
- Lift 30lbs from the floor to your head
- Crouch and squat
- Push 100lbs and pull 100lbs horizontally
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years of commercial driving experience
- Valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
- Excellent time management, customer service and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision making skills
Job Duties
- Perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
- Perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
- Perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- Perform lifting/pushing between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
- Conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
- Perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
- Ability to be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes need to be adjusted or changed
- Provide routing feedback to Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible
- Ability to strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet needs, so the customer's current and future needs are satisfied
