The Route Sales Specialist role at Bimbo Bakeries USA is a key position focused on route growth and customer satisfaction. This full-time position offers a competitive wage of $25.00 per hour, with a standard schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The Route Sales Specialist is responsible for delivering fresh products to existing customers, setting up new accounts, merchandising, and customer development. This role requires partnering closely with customers to support all sales initiatives and maximize ordering, merchandising, and display opportunities. The position also provides crucial support by covering vacation relief for Route Sales Professionals and Loaders, assisting with training new team members, and handling daily route operations including ordering, distribution, and promotional activities.
This role involves a dynamic mix of responsibilities including communication with customers to explain promotions and delivery expectations, ensuring product distribution meets contract terms, and helping with customer relations to drive new product sales and increase shelf space. The Route Sales Specialist must provide exceptional customer service and efficiently resolve any issues that arise. Work locations may vary as staffing needs change. The company values candidates with 1-3 years of relevant Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) experience, a valid driver's license, the ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card, and the ability to acquire a chauffeur license where applicable (in certain states). Physical abilities such as climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and finger dexterity are essential for success in this role.

Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and retain a DOT medical card
- Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, or TN
- Ability to climb, push, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution preferred
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution preferred

Job Duties
- Provide vacation relief for Route Sales Professionals and Loaders
- Assist the Sales Leadership Team in day-to-day operations and issues
- Assist with training of new Route Sales Professionals
- Deliver fresh product to existing customers on open routes
- Assist with rack resets
- Partner with Route Sales Professionals to align account chains
- Manage route operation activity including ordering, distribution, merchandising, promotional activity, holiday planning, and meeting customer expectations
- Communicate with customers regarding promotional activities and delivery expectations
- Ensure product distribution complies with contract terms and requirements
- Assist customer relations by selling new products and gaining space/position
- Provide high level of customer service and resolve issues
- Adapt work location based on staffing needs
