Job Description
Community Coffee Company is a renowned family-owned and operated retail coffee brand, proudly recognized as America's number one in its category. With a rich heritage and a commitment to quality, the company has succeeded in blending age-old traditions with modern innovation to cultivate a dynamic and stimulating workplace. Community Coffee's reputation for crafting exceptional coffee experiences has established it as a trusted name in households and businesses across the nation. This position is part of the Sales Execution Department within the Coffee Service Division, highlighting the company's focus on developing strong sales operations and delivering premium coffee service to its customers.
The Route Sales Representative role is pivotal in maintaining and expanding Community Coffee's customer base through an assigned territory. This on-site role requires daily travel between the company location and various customer establishments, reflecting a hands-on approach to sale and service. Reporting directly to a Sales Manager or Sales Supervisor, the representative will be entrusted with the responsibility of operating a company vehicle to deliver products, equipment, and supplies to food service on premise (FSOP) clients. The essence of this role combines business development, customer service, inventory management, and operational execution to ensure both sales growth and customer satisfaction.
A day in the life of a Route Sales Representative involves meeting financial targets by effectively selling and promoting the Community Coffee products and services. The position requires soliciting additional purchases from existing customers, managing daily collections and bank deposits, maintaining detailed sales and inventory records, and ensuring product freshness and availability. The role also incorporates technical responsibilities, such as installing and servicing coffee brewing equipment and branded merchandise. Furthermore, representatives actively participate in trade shows and special promotional events to further connect with the market and raise brand awareness.
The company emphasizes foundational competencies including building trust, continuous learning, customer-centric approaches, effective communication, integrity, and a results-driven mindset. Additional valued traits contributing to success in this role include accountability, adaptability, interpersonal agility, proactive action-taking, and resourcefulness. Candidates for this position must be physically capable of meeting the demands of frequent lifting, operating a vehicle, and conducting multiple customer interactions daily, while adapting to variable weather and environmental conditions.
Professional growth is encouraged at Community Coffee, where employees join a collaborative, energetic family culture that champions people, inspires creativity, delights customers, serves communities, and fosters collective success. The company offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), short- and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, and an employee assistance program. Community Coffee Company is committed to equal employment opportunities without discrimination and provides reasonable accommodations through the hiring process and employment as required by law.
