This role is a full-time Route Sales Representative position with Flowers Bakeries Sales of NorCal, LLC, offering an annual compensation between $75,000 and $88,000. The compensation package includes a base hourly wage plus commission, alongside comprehensive benefits. The Route Sales Representative (RSR) plays a crucial role in the company's direct store delivery (DSD) operations. This individual is responsible for ordering, sales, and delivery of fresh baked products to customers. The role requires a mix of strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships and operational skills to ensure accurate delivery and product management.

The RSR is expected to have a professional appearance, often adhering to a uniform dress code, and to maintain accurate records such as driver’s logs, time logs, and hours of service while ensuring the vehicle is well-maintained. Flexibility is key, as the working hours typically begin early in the morning around 3:00 am, with regular days off on Wednesdays and Sundays. This person will use strategic sales techniques to increase revenue, including expanding shelf space, creatively displaying products, and ensuring product freshness through proper rotation.

Successful candidates will rely on data and marketing strategies to communicate effectively with customers and drive growth. The position also requires adaptability to meet customers during designated service windows and possibly work non-traditional hours. Prior delivery driver experience is beneficial, and candidates eager to learn and grow in the industry will thrive. Training is provided, including a four-week paid program to ensure best practices are followed. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus but not mandatory.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • have had a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
  • must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • must have a valid state driver’s license and documented safe driving record
  • must meet fleet insurance guidelines
  • must adhere to federal, state, and local rules regarding operation of a CMV
  • must execute best practices of RSR training
  • must be able to push or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required
