For the position of Route Sales Professional, Bimbo Bakeries USA offers an exceptional opportunity to join this prominent company with a rewarding and dynamic career path. As a Route Sales Professional, you will be responsible for driving sales, managing product displays, and ensuring the freshness and quality of bakery products at client locations. The position offers a competitive weekly base pay of $278.00 plus commission, providing an average annual earning potential between $70,000 and $80,000. The shift schedule is designed for efficiency, operating from 3:00 am to 1:00 pm, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off, allowing for a balanced work-life routine. In this role, you will actively participate in merchandising and stocking bakery products, maintaining proper product rotation to uphold quality and freshness standards on store shelves and displays. Your sales expertise will be crucial in securing new display spaces and establishing additional increment displays to boost product visibility and sales. Engagement with customers is integral, as you will follow up on new account opportunities, ensure the execution of promotions, and foster strong, ongoing relationships with clients. Introducing new products and services will be part of your strategy to maximize shelf space and sales within existing and potential accounts.

Additionally, the role demands strong organizational skills to conduct daily route settlement procedures, which involves accurately accounting for products, invoices, cash, and maintaining proper inventory counts. Safe operation of the company route truck is essential, along with completing required daily logs mandated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). You will also be responsible for timely submission of documentation, paperwork, and deposits, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain chauffeur license if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in direct sales distribution (DSD) preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
  • Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
