The role of Route Sales Professional at Bimbo Bakeries USA offers an exciting opportunity to join the largest baking company in the world as part of a vibrant nationwide family of associates. As a Route Sales Professional, individuals will directly impact the company’s success by merchandising and managing fresh bakery products at retail locations to ensure optimal product presentation and availability. This position involves driving sales by cultivating new retail opportunities, maximizing shelf space, and building strong customer relationships. Candidates will be responsible for daily operational tasks such as route settlements, inventory control, and maintaining accurate documentation while safely operating the company route truck.
This full-time role offers a competitive weekly base pay of $350 plus commission, with an average annual income ranging from $60,000 to $85,000. The work shift is from 4:00 am to 1:00 pm, allowing for structured hours with consistent routines. The Route Sales Professional position requires strong organizational skills, physical stamina, and the ability to engage with retail partners to promote and ensure the quality of Bimbo Bakeries’ products. Candidates with 1-3 years of related Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) experience are preferred, but the company also values a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Safety is paramount in this role, as associates will need to maintain a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, acquire and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card, and complete required driving logs and documentation.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
- Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License (If job location is in IN, MI, TN)
- Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred
- Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to perform tasks including climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and use of fingers for extended periods
- 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution preferred
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand highway traffic signs and signals
Job Duties
- Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
- Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
- Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions
- Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when pursuing new customers
- Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
- Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs
- Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
