Mission Linen Supply is currently seeking a motivated Route Sales and Service Driver - Route Relief to join their team. This full-time position emphasizes both driving and customer service, with a strong sales component that rewards initiative and hard work. Route Sales and Service Drivers are responsible for delivering linens and uniforms, providing exceptional service to customers along designated routes, and actively promoting products and services to drive business growth. Compensation for this Route Relief Driver role starts at $24.15 per hour and is adjusted based on education, experience, qualifications, and assignment location. Those who transition to a permanent route sales and service representative can expect an average total annual compensation exceeding $80,000, with opportunities to earn even more through commission-based incentives.

In this role, drivers will handle a variety of tasks including soliciting new business, managing delivery schedules, maintaining good customer relations, and ensuring vehicle cleanliness and maintenance. Candidates must be comfortable loading and unloading the truck with up to 50-pound bags of linen and have a clean driver’s license. Safety and professionalism are paramount as drivers represent Mission Linen Supply at customer locations and uphold company standards. Prospective Route Sales and Service Drivers will undergo drug testing and physical evaluations to ensure compliance with company safety policies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • ability to safely drive 26’ bobtail truck
  • physical ability to load and unload up to 50 lbs daily
  • previous experience in sales and customer service
  • ability to pass drug screening and physical exam
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • reliable and self-motivated work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Must have sales and customer services experience
  • must have a clean driver’s license
  • must be able to drive a 26’ bobtail truck
  • must be comfortable loading/unloading truck with up to 50 lbs bags of linen daily
  • must pass drug tests and clinic physical

Job Duties

  • Maintains a professional appearance in compliance with the company’s standards
  • calls on prospective customers to solicit new business
  • informs regular customers of new products or services
  • drives truck to deliver laundry and/or uniforms to customer’s place of business
  • collects or picks up rejected or unsold laundry and/or uniforms
  • loads/unloads truck
  • develops and maintains the customer's goodwill by providing assistance, demonstrating interest, devoting time, and practicing courtesy
  • conducts business in a professional manner to minimize or eliminate customer complaints
  • handles complaints and questions while keeping supervisor informed
  • listens to and resolves service complaints
  • maintains inventory and follows company inventory control policies
  • collects money from customers, makes change, and records transactions on invoices
  • issues or obtains customer signature on invoices
  • records delivery and inventory information on daily invoices
  • cleans inside of the truck
  • performs routine maintenance on truck
  • attends training and service department meetings
