Job Description
Crystal Clean LLC is a leading nationwide provider of environmental and waste services, committed to helping businesses operate safely, compliantly, and responsibly. As a publicly traded company under the Heritage-Crystal Clean (HCC) brand, Crystal Clean has established itself as a trusted partner in the environmental services industry. The company prides itself on a culture grounded in safety, honesty, accountability, respect, relationships, inclusion, and excellence. With a strong focus on employee development, Crystal Clean offers a comprehensive benefits package, competitive compensation, including sign-on bonuses, and clear opportunities for career advancement. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Crystal Clean embraces diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to join their team.
The role of Vacuum Sales & Service Representative (VSSR) at Crystal Clean is an exciting and dynamic position ideal for individuals who enjoy being on the road, cultivating customer relationships, and engaging in hands-on service work. This local route position allows employees to return home every night while working in an expanding, stable industry that plays a critical role in managing approved waste streams safely and compliantly. The role blends sales, technical service, and problem-solving, with an attractive compensation package that typically yields average annual earnings between $70,000 and $85,000 after the first year, combining base pay and commissions.
VSSRs operate vacuum trucks and handle equipment such as hoses, waste storage units, trenches, and sub-terrain holding chambers to manage various waste streams. Representatives are responsible for owning and growing their routes by building strong relationships with new and existing customers, spotting sales opportunities, and delivering exceptional service. They work independently but represent Crystal Clean with professionalism, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and company standards. Comprehensive training is provided, including a six-month guaranteed pay training period of $1,350 per week, to support new hires in gaining the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. Additional benefits include a full benefits package featuring medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, and employee assistance programs.
This role requires a hands-on approach, including the ability to operate heavy equipment safely and to handle physical demands such as lifting hoses up to 55 pounds, climbing ladders, and maneuvering manhole covers or grates. Candidates with a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements in airbrake, tanker, Hazmat, and a medical card are preferred. Strong communication skills, customer focus, and attention to detail are essential to success. By joining Crystal Clean, employees become part of a company that not only leads its industry but also invests deeply in its people, fostering long-term rewarding careers in environmental stewardship and customer service.
