The Route Sales and Service Representative (SSR) role at Crystal Clean is ideal for individuals who enjoy being on the road, nurturing customer relationships, and engaging in a dynamic work environment that blends sales, hands-on service, and daily variety. This position offers the unique opportunity to work local routes while being home every night, providing a healthy work-life balance. Compensation packages include a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 and a guaranteed weekly pay of $1,100 during the six-month training period. After the training, the average annual earnings range between $70,000 and $85,000 plus commissions, rewarding performance and customer development.
In this role, the SSR manages a designated route, providing essential services including maintaining parts-washing equipment and conducting scheduled pickups of waste drums at customer sites. The SSR plays a crucial role in driving sales by identifying new business opportunities, recommending services effectively, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Independent planning and route optimization are key responsibilities, ensuring efficiency and safety while representing Crystal Clean with professionalism and integrity. This full-time position emphasizes personal accountability and a strong safety culture, ensuring that every aspect of work meets or exceeds regulatory standards such as those mandated by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have or be qualified to obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Med Card with Airbrake and HAZMAT
- Valid motor vehicle record that meets company standards including no seat belt or cell phone violations, no excessive speeding, no DUI or suspensions, and limited vehicle collisions
- Ability to lift materials weighing 54-80 pounds frequently
- Ability to push and pull 16-55 gallon drums of waste/product weighing up to and exceeding 400 pounds with proper tools
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respirator, steel toe boots, gloves, uniform, safety glasses, reflective vest, and hard hats
- Must pass pre-employment physical including drug and alcohol screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Route sales experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, sales branch employees, and other corporate departments
- Ability to operate electronic mobile devices, computers, hoses, and truck equipment
- Qualified to obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Med Card
- Familiarity with Airbrake and HAZMAT certifications is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage customer relationships
Job Duties
- Own your route by managing and growing your territory through building strong customer relationships
- Deliver essential services including maintaining parts-washing equipment and handling scheduled waste drum pickups

- Work independently by planning efficient routes, adhering to safety standards, and representing Crystal Clean professionally
- Engage in and promote safe work behaviors following all safety guidelines
- Align work orders to minimize mileage and travel time
- Complete required paperwork accurately and maintain compliance with DOT and corporate policies
