Job Description

Crystal Clean is a nationally recognized leader in environmental and waste services dedicated to helping businesses manage their waste streams responsibly while promoting environmental sustainability. With a longstanding commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction, Crystal Clean continues expanding its footprint across the United States. The company is publicly traded under Heritage-Crystal Clean LLC (HCC) and offers comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, and opportunities for growth in a thriving industry. HCC prides itself on maintaining a culture built around safety, honesty, accountability, respect, relationships, inclusion, and excellence, reflecting its dedication to both its employees and the communities it serves.

The role of Vacuum Sales and Service Representative (VSSR) at Crystal Clean combines sales expertise with hands-on service and operational responsibilities. This position is ideal for motivated individuals who prefer a dynamic, varied role where they can engage directly with customers, manage their routes independently, and operate specialized equipment such as vacuum trucks. This is a local route job, ensuring employees are home every night, which adds to a healthy work-life balance.

In this position, VSSRs are responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships within their assigned geographic territory. They deliver essential services by handling vacuum trucks to remove approved waste streams from customer container units, including the operation of hoses, waste storage units, and managing access to sub-terrain holding chambers. The role also carries a sales component where VSSRs identify new business opportunities, develop leads, and recommend additional services that match customer needs, thus directly impacting their earnings through commissions and bonuses.

Crystal Clean supports new hires with a six-month training period and guarantees a weekly pay during this time, coupled with a substantial sign-on bonus. Employees benefit from comprehensive company-paid training designed to develop their skills and confidence to succeed. With average annual earnings ranging between $70,000 and $85,000+ after the first year—including base pay and commission—the role offers strong financial incentives. Moreover, the company provides a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, and an employee assistance program.

Safety is paramount at Crystal Clean; employees are expected to engage in safe work behaviors consistent with company guidelines and adhere to all Department of Transportation requirements. The role involves frequent physical activity such as maneuvering heavy hoses, lifting covers weighing up to 55 pounds, and climbing ladders when necessary. Candidates must be able to wear personal protective equipment including respirators, steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and reflective vests.

Overall, this opportunity at Crystal Clean is well-suited for self-driven individuals with strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and a commitment to customer service who want to advance their careers in the environmental services industry. Crystal Clean’s inclusive environment encourages diversity and invites applicants from all backgrounds to join its team and contribute to keeping businesses safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible.
