Job Description

GA Foods is a reputable company that has been dedicated to creating and delivering high-quality, nutritious, and well-balanced meals for over fifty years. The company specializes in serving diverse populations that include seniors, children, military personnel, and emergency response teams. Known for its flavorful menus tailored to the specific tastes of its clients, GA Foods stands out from competitors through its exceptional delivery service and strong 'One Team' culture. The firm is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, and boasts a significant presence across the United States, from California to New Jersey and Texas to Georgia. GA Foods is recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in its industry, driven by a diverse, energetic workforce committed to excellence, teamwork, and leadership.

The company is currently seeking to hire a Route Delivery Driver at its St. Petersburg location. This role requires a dedicated individual who holds a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and who is motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. The Route Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of ready-made meals—whether hot, frozen, or shelf-stable—to senior citizens and other at-risk populations along predetermined routes. Compassion, empathy, and excellent customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Specific responsibilities include the safe handling and delivery of food items and supplies, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, ensuring compliance with food safety and temperature control standards, and communicating promptly with supervisors about any issues. Drivers must also perform daily vehicle inspections and upkeep, assist with packing and storage of food items and supplies, and meticulously maintain delivery records and driver scorecards. Regular attendance is critical to ensure scheduled customer deliveries are met consistently. Additionally, the role requires standing, walking, and occasionally lifting items up to 50 pounds, under varying weather conditions.

GA Foods fosters a supportive and inclusive workplace culture emphasizing equal employment opportunities and promotes initiative, leadership, and teamwork in its employees. Employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of a background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. GA Foods also complies with affirmative action policies for qualified individuals with disabilities and protected veterans, affirming its commitment to diversity and inclusion. This role offers a stimulating work environment for those interested in being part of a dynamic and impactful organization dedicated to quality and customer care.
