This role is a full-time, non-management position within the Housekeeping and Laundry department. The primary responsibility is to uphold the impeccable cleanliness and presentation standards that The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City is famous for. The Housekeeping team plays a crucial role in ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and aesthetic appeal. Success in this role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and respectfully as part of a team.
As a Housekeeping team member, you will be responsible for inspecting guest rooms after cleaning, completing checklists and paperwork related to cleaning operations, and ensuring that all rooms meet the required cleanliness standards before guests arrive. It is essential to handle guest requests promptly and coordinate with other departments to maintain seamless service. You will adhere strictly to company safety policies, report any hazards or maintenance issues, and participate in safety training and certifications.
In addition to maintaining high cleanliness standards, you will support management by assisting in employee hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. You will be a role model for your colleagues, demonstrating professionalism in your appearance and conduct, and promoting a positive work environment built on respect and teamwork.
This physically demanding role requires the ability to move through confined spaces, operate cleaning equipment, lift and transport objects weighing up to and over 55 pounds with assistance, and perform tasks that require fine motor skills and coordination. The position requires stamina for standing, walking, kneeling, and repetitive motions throughout the work shift.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of related work experience
- ability to read and interpret documents
- physical capability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- good communication skills
- compliance with company uniform and appearance standards
- willingness to complete safety training and certifications
- ability to work in confined and elevated spaces
- ability to handle and move up to 55 pounds with or without assistance
- ability to use cleaning equipment and maintain safety protocols

- Enter clean room status on assignment sheets
- complete checklists to report cleaning and condition of assigned areas
- complete required housekeeping paperwork

- access guest rooms following procedures to ensure vacancy before entry
