Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently carry objects up to 25 pounds
  • must maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • regular attendance and punctuality
  • ability to work flexible schedules due to business needs

  • physical ability to perform tasks involving walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, stretching, handling, feeling, bending, kneeling

Job Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • previous janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred
  • basic ability to comprehend English to understand and communicate safety and security instructions
  • ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor
  • knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents
  • ability to use different types of equipment
  • ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull heavy equipment and stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Empty room attendant carts of solid linen and trash
  • vacuum, sweep, and mop hallways, stairwells, and foyers
  • clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors
  • polish and clean mirrors
  • obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants
  • flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor
  • ensure linen closets are fully stocked
  • supply room attendants with clean linens
  • use proper communication etiquette (phone/radio)
  • proper handling of dirty linen (usage of linen shoots)
  • maintain closet cleanliness
  • remove dirty glasses and bring to dishwashing area
  • keep immediate supervisor informed of problems or unusual matters
  • assist room attendants with removal of trash and linen during high occupancy
  • assist shampooer with relocation of furniture
  • respond to guest questions
  • provide guest assistance, directions, and information
  • report suspicious persons or activities
  • provide instruction on safety in fire or emergencies
  • perform other duties as assigned
