Job Description

Sonesta International Hotels is a prominent player in the hospitality industry, ranked as the 8th largest hotel company in the United States with a rapidly expanding footprint. The company features a distinctive blend of full-service and focused hotels strategically located in major cities, offering guests a uniquely diverse portfolio consisting of owned, managed, and franchised properties. This extensive reach allows Sonesta to be present where travelers desire, providing consistent quality and value across over 1,000 properties spanning eight countries. Driven by a strong sense of hospitality, Sonesta International Hotels is committed to delivering services with passion and loyalty, creating experiences that foster genuine connections with guests. The company’s philosophy, encapsulated in the core value "Together We Thrive," emphasizes quality, value, and remarkable hospitality for every guest, every stay, ensuring the highest level of satisfaction in a welcoming atmosphere.

The role of a Room Attendant (RA) at Sonesta International Hotels is integral to maintaining the company’s hallmark hospitality standards. This position involves working closely with the Housekeeping Management Team to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of guest rooms, public spaces, and commercial laundry facilities. The primary focus is on adhering to Sonesta's brand standards regarding timing, product quality, and placement to ensure complete guest satisfaction. The RA is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned rooms by making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and managing kitchen areas within rooms, such as refrigerators and microwaves. In addition to room maintenance, the RA may also work in the laundry facility, where duties include monitoring supplies and equipment, operating washers and dryers, inspecting linens, and reporting any damages.

Moreover, the Room Attendant plays a crucial role in guest relations by promptly responding to complaints or special requests and ensuring corrective actions are taken when needed. Communication is key, as the RA must notify supervisors when rooms are ready for occupancy or report any rooms that cannot be serviced. The role also involves teamwork, coordination across shifts, and compliance with health and safety regulations at local, state, and federal levels. Sonesta values the Room Attendant's contribution to upholding safety standards, minimizing waste of supplies, and assisting with deep cleaning projects to keep the property in pristine condition.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive pay range of $25.50 to $26.50 per hour, aligning with contractual requirements. Sonesta International Hotels also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick days, paid holidays, pension plans, legal services, and maternity and parental leave. Sonesta champions equal opportunity employment and encourages applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds, ensuring an inclusive work environment that supports the mission to wow every guest, team member, partner, and community by delivering exceptional hospitality. Candidates are reminded to complete their entire application, including a resume attachment, for consideration.
