The role of Room Attendant at Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel is central to upholding the hotel's reputation for cleanliness, comfort, and outstanding service. This position involves safely and thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, hallways, and other assigned areas in compliance with the hotel's strict cleanliness standards. Room Attendants are expected to follow detailed cleaning protocols while maintaining a cheerful and courteous demeanor to ensure every guest interaction is positive and welcoming. Key responsibilities include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms thoroughly, wiping down walls, and adhering to time guidelines set by the Executive Housekeeper and General Manager to ensure efficiency without compromising quality.

In addition to cleaning duties, Room Attendants must follow company policies regarding room amenities, promptly report lost and found items, maintain security protocols for master keys, and communicate effectively with both guests and team members. They also assist with laundry as needed and help other departments where necessary to contribute to the hotel's overall operational success. This is a full-time hourly position with a competitive pay range of $24.00 to $25.00 per hour. Along with wages, employees receive health benefits, a 401k plan, paid vacation and sick leave, and access to the Team Member Travel Program, which provides exclusive rates at sister properties for rest and relaxation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is beneficial
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and laundry tasks
  • Willingness to follow company cleaning and safety standards strictly
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of guest belongings and keys
  • Reliable and punctual work attendance
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a housekeeping or room attendant role is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Ability to work efficiently within established time guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures strictly
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and handle laundry duties
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
  • Clean guest rooms to Company standards including but not limited to making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms completely, wiping down walls, etc
  • Clean rooms within the minutes-per-room guideline established by the Executive Housekeeper and General Manager
  • Follow Company policy for room amenities
  • Turn in all items left in guestroom to manager immediately
  • Maintain complete security of master room key and return the key at the end of shift
  • Never leave the property with a key
  • Report any maintenance items that need immediate attention
  • Assist with laundry as needed
  • Report any missing/found articles or damage to the Executive Housekeeper
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management
