  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • four to six months housekeeping experience or training preferred
  • ability to understand, read, write, and speak basic English
  • ability to apply common sense to carry out simple instructions
  • ability to work flexible shifts
  • must have excellent customer service skills
  • must be able to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Sort linens
  • clean multiple guest rooms daily including changing linens, making beds, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
  • replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
  • clean corridors and stairways
  • sweep and scrub bathroom floors
  • clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • dust furniture
  • wash walls and woodwork
  • wash windows, door panels, and sills
  • empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
  • transport trash and waste to disposal area
  • replenish bathroom supplies
  • replace light bulbs
  • scrub bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls, and bathroom fan
  • complete quality checks on televisions, telephones, AC units, and smoke detectors
  • remove and properly handle items left behind by guests according to hotel procedure
  • report maintenance issues to the maintenance department
  • use supplies and equipment carefully
  • wear proper uniform at all times
  • achieve a score of 90% or higher on room inspections
  • greet guests pleasantly and use guest names when entering occupied rooms
  • maintain thorough knowledge of in-house products and local area information
  • organize and timely stock carts
  • keep commercial area clean and neat
  • respond timely to customer needs for housekeeping supplies
  • check all vacant rooms daily to ensure correct status
  • maintain supply room cleanliness and organization
  • assist co-workers and display team attitude
