Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable hotel that places a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality. This hotel caters to guests seeking comfortable and inviting accommodations, with a commitment to exceptional service and maintaining a welcoming environment throughout the property. Being part of the hospitality industry, the hotel offers a dynamic and supportive work environment for individuals passionate about creating positive guest experiences and contributing to the smooth daily operations of the hotel. The company values reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic while encouraging personal growth and team collaboration among its employees.
The role of Room Attendant is essential to the hotel's operations, focusing primarily on maintaining clean, attractive, and well-stocked guest rooms, hallways, and public areas. This position involves servicing guest rooms daily in strict accordance with established hotel procedures and standards. Room Attendants are responsible for ensuring each guest room is spotless, well-maintained, and fully stocked with necessary supplies to provide guests with a comfortable and pleasant stay. This includes changing bed linens, cleaning bathrooms thoroughly, dusting and sweeping rooms, cleaning windows and balconies, and picking up trash.
In addition to room servicing, the Room Attendant will handle the housekeeping cart by retrieving, stocking, restocking, and storing supplies according to safety and security procedures. Communication with the Senior Housekeeper is critical for receiving assigned sections, keys, supplies, and priority room requests, and returning these items properly at the end of each shift. Responding promptly and courteously to guest requests, handling complaints in a hospitable manner, and reporting any damages or issues observed are integral parts of the responsibility. The Room Attendant will collaborate with the Housekeeping Supervisor to align on priorities and provide additional assistance when needed to ensure that high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are consistently maintained.
This full-time position generally requires working an average of 36 to 40 hours per week, with long hours occasionally needed. The physical nature of the job demands medium work capability, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently or constantly. The role requires standing, walking, bending, and the physical stamina to complete tasks efficiently throughout the shift. Effectiveness in communication and active listening skills are also vital for interacting with guests and coworkers, ensuring clarity and professionalism in addressing concerns or requests.
Experience in the hotel or hospitality industry is preferred but not mandatory, making this role a great opportunity for individuals eager to start or continue their career in hospitality services. The hotel provides training and support to help room attendants excel in their duties and contribute positively to the guest experience. Overall, this role is ideal for detail-oriented, hardworking individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in making a significant difference in guest satisfaction and hotel operations.
