Job Description
S&L Hospitality is a distinguished company operating in the hotel and hospitality industry, known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences through its properties primarily located in Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Iowa. The company prides itself on a culture deeply rooted in family values and the creation of lasting positive relationships, not just with guests but among its team members as well. This solid foundation of culture and mission drives S&L Hospitality to seek team members who are not only skilled and experienced but who also embody the core values of the company. With a focus on growth and development, S&L Hospitality provides ample opportunities for employees to advance within the company, whether by growing in their current roles or transferring to other properties within the organization's portfolio.
The position of Room Attendant / Hotel Housekeeper at S&L Hospitality is a vital role that directly influences the overall guest experience. This full-time position primarily involves working the first shift, ideally between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with weekend availability, and requires a highly motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented individual who has a passion for working with people. The role centers around maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep of guest rooms and ensuring that every guest's needs are anticipated and met promptly and professionally.
As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for replenishing essential items such as towels, linens, and guest amenities. Your thorough cleaning duties include vacuuming, dusting, changing bed linens, emptying trash cans, and ensuring bathrooms are spotless. Additionally, you will be tasked with reporting maintenance issues or guest left-behind items promptly to the appropriate department. An understanding of the hotel’s safety and emergency procedures is also essential to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff alike. Maintaining the company's high standards of cleanliness is not limited to individual rooms but extends to contributing positively to the overall hotel's environment.
This role requires physical stamina as attendants will often be required to lift, push, or pull items heavier than 20 pounds, including housekeeping carts that can weigh over 30 pounds. The ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions is also crucial. Flexibility in scheduling is important, reflecting the dynamic nature of hotel operations and the commitment to accommodate business needs.
S&L Hospitality recognizes the importance of a balanced work environment and offers significant benefits that emphasize employee wellness, growth, and financial security. Eligible team members can participate in the 401(k) plan with a company match after six months of service. Flexible scheduling and paid time off beginning from day one demonstrate the company's commitment to work-life balance. There are also holiday pay incentives for working designated company holidays and on-the-job training programs to continuously enhance skills. Growth and development opportunities abound, with potential openings across various properties.
Regular full-time team members and leadership staff have access to a comprehensive range of medical, dental, and vision insurance options. Additional insurance offerings including short-term disability, long-term disability, critical illness, accident, and life insurance are also available, along with flexible spending accounts to help manage healthcare expenses effectively. S&L Hospitality is an Equal Opportunity Employer, actively celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive environment for all employees. This commitment ensures a respectful, supportive workplace where all individuals are valued and can thrive regardless of background or identity.
