Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 or more hours daily
- Physical ability to walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, lift at least 50 pounds, push and pull approximately 200 pounds
- Capability to wear housekeeping personal protective equipment such as goggles, gowns, and gloves
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must follow professional dress and grooming standards
- Commitment to confidentiality and guest privacy
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperature conditions
- Willingness to travel locally for meetings and training sessions as required
Job Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and number skills in any language
- Basic housekeeping communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills including listening, smiling, relating, asking questions, and teamwork
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain focus, and stay structured under pressure
- Ability to resolve conflicts professionally to maximize guest and associate satisfaction
- Understanding of hotel functions and guest profiles
- Knowledge of the local area including restaurants, landmarks, and attractions
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities preferred
- Prior housekeeping, cleaning, or janitorial experience preferred
- Emotional intelligence training is a plus
Job Duties
- Provide a pleasant room experience to guests
- Ensure all guest room areas meet hotel standards including inspecting furnishings, light fixtures, and room equipment
- Perform cleaning duties such as changing bed linen, towels, and bath products, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting high-touch areas
- Complete daily room assignments
- Assist with reports, maintenance requests, logbooks, and lost and found handling
- Participate in deep cleaning projects and other assigned duties
- Maintain confidentiality of hotel sensitive information such as guest profiles and credit card details
- Demonstrate brand standards, behaviors, hallmarks, and mandates
- Follow all safety guidelines to ensure the safety of associates and guests
- Adhere to company policies including punctuality, professional demeanor, and proper reporting
- Engage guests and associates professionally, establishing relationships and ensuring guest satisfaction
- Assist in training new associates when requested
- Resolve guest and associate concerns timely and professionally
- Communicate effectively with all hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction
- Follow schedules to reduce overtime and missed meal breaks
