Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education
  • Up to six months related experience or training
  • Ability to read limited two- and three-syllable words
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
  • Ability to speak English
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use cleaning tools and handle cleaning fluids
  • Ability to maintain moderate noise environment
  • Ability to recognize emergency situations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish and service guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures
  • Stock cart with guest room supplies at beginning of shift
  • Greet guests with appropriate salutations
  • Replace linens on beds and replenish guest room supplies
  • Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
  • Rearrange furnishings, drapes and room accessories
  • Provide necessary linen and amenities to guests according to guest room legend
  • Leave guest room in uniform arrangement and ensure door is closed and locked
  • Report damage, hazards, repairs, and strangers in assigned areas
  • Return items found to Housekeeping department as lost and found with proper documentation
  • Responsible for all keys signed out during shift
  • Clean all corridors and service areas
  • Respond to housekeeping projects or requests from management
  • Replace light bulbs if necessary
  • Restock cart at end of shift and organize linen closet
  • Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned
