IHG is committed to inclusiveness, diversity, and providing opportunities for growth and development across the company. Its mission emphasizes creating welcoming environments where employees can thrive both professionally and personally through support systems and comprehensive wellness frameworks.
This position is for a Room Attendant at the Hotel Indigo in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, California. This is a full-time role based at 509 9th Avenue, San Diego. The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring that each guest has an exceptional experience by maintaining the highest housekeeping standards. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in cleanliness and customer service. The Room Attendant is responsible for preparing guest rooms to the hotel's exacting standards, ensuring all aspects are spotless, comfortable, and inviting.
In addition to cleaning, this role involves assisting guests with any needs or inquiries they might have, from providing forgotten items to helping locate facilities within the hotel. Communication with supervisors is key to report progress, handle challenges, and ensure smooth operations. The position also includes supply management to minimize waste and participation in deeper cleaning projects regularly.
Physically, the job is demanding, requiring stamina and the ability to lift or move heavy objects up to 50 pounds. The Room Attendant is often on their feet, bending and kneeling to reach areas that require cleaning or maintenance. Flexibility in work hours is essential, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Beyond the tasks and physical requirements, Hotel Indigo values creating a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. IHG provides competitive salaries alongside a wide range of benefits that support employees’ well-being, career development, and work-life balance. Employees are given full uniforms, staff discounts on rooms, and access to high-quality training programs. The company embraces diversity and promotes equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, or veteran status.
