Located at the Courtyard Portland East in Portland, Oregon, the Room Attendant role is a vital position within the Highgate family. The Room Attendant is primarily responsible for ensuring that all guestrooms maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and appeal. This role directly contributes to the guest experience by providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service, thereby upholding the brand’s commitment to excellence. Responsibilities focus on the physical cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms and adjacent areas, involving tasks such as pre-cleaning preparations, guest supply replenishment, and meticulous sanitation of rooms according to company standards. In addition to these cleaning duties, the Room Attendant also plays a key role in maintaining the overall appearance and upkeep of hallways, public areas, and storage closets. The position requires constant restocking of supplies like linens and cleaning chemicals, accurate reporting of missing guest room items or maintenance issues, and diligent management of lost and found items. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Thoroughly clean guestrooms according to standards
- Complete all pre-cleaning duties including guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-up
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guestrooms and hallways
- Keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and vacuumed
- Restock housekeeping cleaning cart for next day's use
- Replenish chemical bottles
- Report all missing items from rooms to Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
- Report any maintenance repairs immediately to Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
- Handle items for lost and found according to standards
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
