The role of Banquet Server is an integral position within the events team responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and helpful service to both guests and team members. This role demands an individual who can competently manage the nuances of banquet and event service while maintaining a warm, welcoming demeanor. The Banquet Server will be responsible for several critical tasks including greeting guests, setting up event spaces in line with the Banquet Event Order (BEO), and assisting with food and beverage service to ensure a memorable guest experience. The job involves replenishing buffet stations, synchronized plated dinner service, regular guest check-ins, and prompt response to guest needs such as refilling drinks and clearing plates.
Additionally, this position requires collaborating closely with the Banquet and Event Assistant Manager and other servers to coordinate service delivery seamlessly. The server will also participate in post-event duties such as venue cleanup, inventory assistance, food storage, and adhering strictly to sanitation regulations and safety standards. Given the fast-paced nature of the hospitality environment, this role demands high attention to detail, the ability to multitask effectively, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
This is a full-time or part-time opportunity that requires flexibility in working hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Able to work in a high energy and fast paced work environment
- Able to multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
- Accuracy and high attention to detail as well as project a friendly and helpful attitude
- Able to work as part of a team, demonstrate honesty and integrity
- Must be dependable and timely and be able to work a flexible schedule
- High standard of personal appearance and hygiene
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Able to lift 30-50 lbs
- Able to stand, walk, lift, twist, and bend for up to 8 hours a day
- Able to climb stairs while carrying 15-30 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Some experience preferred, 1-2 years banquets or related field
- Excellent guest service and communication skills
- Ability to earn and maintain TiPS certification
- Ability to earn and maintain RBS certification within 60 days of employment
- Ability to earn and maintain a current Food Handlers Card
- Must be able to acquire and maintain appropriate gaming license
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Job Duties
- Provide friendly, fast, and helpful service to guests and team members
- Meet and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner
- Setup event space, buffets, food and beverage stations as set by the event BEO and company standards
- Assist with food and table preparations for the event including linens, place settings, polished silverware, glassware, etc
- Greet and assist guests upon arrival helping with seating and beverage service
- Replenish buffets and food stations efficiently and in a timely manner
- Have knowledge of the plated dinners and adequately present to guests with synchronized service
- Provide exceptional service, check-in regularly and respond promptly to guests by anticipating needs such as refilling drinks, clearing plates, etc
- Communicate with the Banquet and Event Assistant Manager as well as other servers and event organizers
- Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Adhere to company policies and standard procedures
- Other duties as assigned
