The Registered Nurse (RN) Shift Manager position at Emanuel Medical Center plays a crucial leadership role within the Nursing Department. Reporting directly to the Nursing Department Director, this full-time role specifically covers night shifts and comes with an attractive hourly wage range of $51.18 to $81.91, with individual wages determined by qualifications and experience. In addition, the position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 based on experience, making it a highly competitive opportunity.

The RN Shift Manager is responsible for coordinating nursing services during their assigned shift by utilizing nursing processes and organizational leadership skills. The primary goal is to ensure that patient care is delivered effectively and is appropriate to the patient’s age and developmental needs. This role involves actively assessing staff needs on the unit, collaborating closely with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure that adequate staffing levels meet patient care demands. Furthermore, the RN Shift Manager supports the Nursing Department Director with various administrative tasks, helping to maintain smooth operational functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and possess the ability to manage complex clinical environments while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.

Job Requirements

  • Current California registered nurse license
  • Two to five years acute nursing experience or equivalent
  • Two years labor and delivery experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring AWHONN certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Managerial experience preferred
