With its corporate headquarters based in Atlanta, Georgia, Gentiva operates nearly 600 locations spanning 38 states, providing compassionate, patient-centric care designed to support individuals and families coping with illness, injury, surgery recovery, or terminal diagnoses in the comfort of their own homes. The company prides itself on a broad footprint, powered by a family of trusted brands including Gentiva Hospice, Emerald Coast Hospice Care, Heartland Hospice, Hospice Plus, New Century Hospice, and many others, delivering expert support across multiple care disciplines to improve the quality of life of patients. Gentiva also fosters a working environment where professional achievements are recognized, collaboration is ingrained into the culture, and kindness and respect are core values. This nationwide leader invites dedicated clinicians and healthcare professionals to join a team focused on innovative and comprehensive care from home health services to advanced illness management.
The role of RN Executive Director Specialist - Hospice at Gentiva is a vital leadership position that requires administering and overseeing the overall operations of assigned hospice markets. This full-time position carries the important responsibility as the administrator on call, managing the employment of qualified hospice staff, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, and delivering high-caliber patient care across multiple sites. The Executive Director Specialist acts as a key leader who must provide consistent operational stability, driving clinical quality aligned with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state hospice regulations, and Gentiva's own quality standards. Leadership duties also encompass managing full operational budgets with profit and loss accountability, coaching hospice care teams to meet patient-centered goals, and collaborating cross-functionally with other leaders to ensure seamless transitions and sustainable performance. Given the regional nature of this role, the Executive Director must be prepared to travel up to 100 percent within the region to provide hands-on leadership, mentorship, and support.
This position offers a competitive pay structure consistent with industry standards and highlights opportunities for career advancement, underscoring Gentiva's commitment to nurturing leadership within its ranks. Ideal candidates will be registered nurses licensed in their state of residence with proven leadership or management experience in healthcare – preferably hospice care – accompanied by a strong understanding of Medicaid and Medicare regulations. Excellent communication, decision-making, and time management skills are essential, paired with a high comfort level with technology and digital platforms to support operational excellence. Gentiva values integrity, professionalism, and a staunch dedication to quality care, making this role imperative to fulfilling its mission of compassionate home-based care. By joining Gentiva, Executive Directors Specialist RNs become part of a national leader dedicated to transforming hospice care through expanded access and innovative leadership.
