Gaylord Hotels, a distinguished brand within the Marriott International portfolio, is renowned for its leadership in meetings, extraordinary experiences, and impeccable service. As part of Marriott International, Gaylord Hotels benefits from a global reputation that blends rich culture, talent, and experiences, fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and equal opportunity. Known for creating environments that unite people in a unique way, Gaylord Hotels offers more than just a place to stay – it provides a platform for associates to thrive and grow beyond the traditional hotel experience.
The role being offered is a Guest Services Host position dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality by warmly welcoming guests and ensuring their seating and dining experience surpass expectations. This position involves greeting guests upon arrival, determining the number in their party, and escorting them to clean and properly arranged tables. The Guest Services Host is accountable for ensuring that place settings are perfect, menus are current and tidy, and that the dining areas are maintained with high standards of cleanliness throughout the day. Furthermore, this role entails helping guests navigate the dining rooms, accommodating groups with special seating needs, and monitoring the dining room’s overall ambiance and guest well-being.
Safety and professionalism are paramount in this position. The Guest Services Host must comply with all company safety policies and report any incidents or unsafe conditions promptly. The position requires maintaining a clean and professional appearance, practicing confidentiality, and upholding Marriott's high standards of service excellence. Communication is key, as this role involves speaking clearly with guests and colleagues, answering telephones with proper etiquette, and supporting team efforts to achieve shared goals. Physical activity is part of the daily routine, including standing, walking, and carrying light objects.
This is an ideal opportunity for those seeking to build a career in hospitality without prior experience, as no specific related work or supervisory experience is required. The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent and will possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and dedication to providing thoughtful and big-hearted service. Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a global family of professionals committed to delivering meaningful guest experiences while growing personally and professionally. The company fosters an inclusive culture where every associate's unique background is celebrated, making it an inspiring and rewarding place to work.
