Job Requirements
- Completion of a four-year college degree program in Hotel Restaurant and Institutions Management, Business Administration, Dietetics, Food Systems and Economics Management or Nutrition
- one to three years of related progressively responsible work experience
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to work Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- ability to respond to emergency situations and report to work during university closures
- excellent customer service skills
Job Qualifications
- Experience in customer relations
- knowledge of food service practices
- familiarity with sanitation and safety procedures
- supervisory and managerial experience
- familiarity with food preparation equipment
- effective communication skills
- experience in banquet coordination and recipe development is a plus
Job Duties
- Direct the food service staff in preparation and service of food in a residence hall serving unit
- monitor daily food production and presentation to ensure meals are served according to prescribed menus, recipes, and quality standards
- implement training programs for support staff
- receive and resolve customer concerns or suggestions
- ensure compliance with sanitation and safety procedures
- assist with food inventory and ordering
- coordinate special events and catering as needed
