At Marriott, the unique blend of cultures, talents, and experiences forms the company’s greatest strength. Marriott prides itself on non-discriminatory hiring practices and supports employees with numerous benefits and development opportunities, making it a top employer within the hospitality industry.
The position available is for a Revenue Manager within the Revenue Management category, located at the US Shared Services in Bethesda, Maryland. This full-time management role plays a crucial part in managing the transient rooms inventory across one or multiple hotel properties, with the primary goal of maximizing transient revenue. The Revenue Manager is tasked with releasing group room blocks back into the general inventory and maintaining clean booking windows to offer optimal availability for transient customers. In addition, the role involves recommending pricing strategies and positioning for cluster properties to ensure competitive and profitable revenue streams.
This role requires a deep understanding and oversight of inventory management systems to verify that the agreed-upon selling strategies are implemented effectively. The Revenue Manager compiles and analyzes data on actual versus projected sales, identifies trends and obstacles to revenue goals, and refines sales strategies to increase market share. Strategic execution is a key part of this role, requiring coordination with cluster general managers, leadership teams, and sales offices to align efforts on pricing, rate restrictions, and inventory management.
The position offers a competitive annual salary range of $62,000 to $91,000, with eligibility for bonus incentives. Marriott International also provides extensive benefits including coverage for medical, dental, and vision care, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, educational assistance, and various employee discounts. Full-time employees in Washington also accrue paid sick leave and receive a minimum of seven holidays annually.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant academic background with either a two-year degree coupled with three years of professional experience or a four-year bachelor's degree with at least one year of applicable experience in revenue management, sales, marketing, or a related field. Core competencies include strong analytical skills for interpreting sales and market data, problem-solving abilities, and expertise with reservation and demand forecasting systems. The Revenue Manager must effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels and be proactive in adjusting strategies to changing market conditions while upholding Marriott’s brand philosophies and initiatives.
This role is fully remote, providing flexibility while allowing the individual to contribute to Marriott’s success from their location. It is an excellent opportunity for a motivated revenue professional seeking to leverage their expertise in a leading global hotel company. The Revenue Manager will not only enhance profitability but also play a role in driving innovation and continuous improvement within the Revenue Management function at Marriott. Candidates passionate about hospitality, strategic revenue optimization, and collaborative leadership are encouraged to apply for this outstanding management position.
