This role is based in New Braunfels, Texas, and is designed for candidates passionate about customer service and retail operations. As a key team member in the store, the successful candidate will deliver friendly customer service, assist customers in shopping and locating products, and ensure an efficient checkout experience. The position involves a variety of responsibilities including merchandise handling, stocking, and maintaining visual presentation standards consistent with Michaels’ Brand Promises. Responsibilities include engaging customers with information about loyalty and credit card programs, educating them about customer feedback surveys, and assisting with omnichannel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). The role requires active participation in unloading trucks, stock replenishment, planogram implementation, and executing store recovery processes to maintain a well-merchandised and inviting shopping environment.
Team members are expected to contribute positively to the store culture by demonstrating respect and professionalism even in challenging situations and serving as role models for peers. Cross-training in custom framing sales and production is also part of this position, providing additional skill development opportunities. Candidates should be prepared for the physical demands of the job, including prolonged standing, lifting, and working with equipment like ladders and heat presses. The job requires availability for varied shifts including nights, weekends, and early mornings in a public retail environment that prioritizes safety and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- At least sixteen (16) years of age or older
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time
- Ability to move throughout the store
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladders or similar equipment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job
Job Qualifications
- Retail and/or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions
- Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience
- execute cash handling to standards
- Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments
- Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
- Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
- Participate in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes
- Responsible to complete merchandise recovery and maintenance including the merchandise return / go back process and general store recovery to ensure a well-merchandised and in-stock store
- Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned
- Support shrink and safety programs
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements
- Execute Company policies and standards
- Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner
