The Retail Sales Executive role at Great Plains Beef is a pivotal position focused on expanding the reach of the Certified Piedmontese beef brand within large regional retail accounts. This role is quintessential for scaling the company’s presence and boosting revenue streams in key retail markets, where competition is fierce and differentiation is essential. As a strategic sales partner, the Retail Sales Executive will be responsible for identifying untapped opportunities and cultivating strong, lasting relationships with retail customers. This prospect-driven approach involves converting leads into long-term accounts and nurturing those partnerships to foster mutual growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities include in-depth research of the retail landscape to pinpoint high-potential business opportunities and executing effective outreach strategies such as prospecting and cold calling to engage retail decision-makers and senior executives. A central focus will be the introduction and growth of Certified Piedmontese grass-fed, grass-finished ground beef lines within both national and regional retail chains. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the product’s unique benefits and the ability to communicate these advantages persuasively to retail partners. The Retail Sales Executive will also coordinate product sampling, manage in-store or buyer product demonstrations, and deliver presentations that highlight the superior quality and health benefits of Certified Piedmontese beef.

In addition to ground beef, the role entails working closely with retail accounts to identify opportunities for expanding the product assortment, including various cuts, packaging formats, and value-added products that meet evolving consumer demands and align with merchandising strategies. Collaboration with internal teams and retail partners on distribution strategies, promotional planning, marketing campaigns, and brand execution is vital to optimize sales results and enhance shelf visibility.

The position is ideally based at the corporate office in Lincoln, Nebraska, although the company is open to remote candidates who can commit to regular travel. Business travel constitutes 25 to 35 percent of the role, encompassing visits to current and prospective retail customers, attendance at industry trade shows, and representation at brand events. Successful candidates will bring a strong background in selling beef or other protein products to large regional and national retail chains, backed by exceptional relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
