This job opportunity is for a Front End Associate position within US Foods' retail segment. This role is vital in delivering an exceptional customer experience at the store front by applying company training and best practices to every interaction. The position involves responsibilities in customer service, sales processing using POS systems, inventory management, stocking, and maintaining the store environment. Candidates will be expected to work flexible hours including mornings and evenings, Monday through Sunday, to accommodate the store’s business needs. Starting pay for the position is $17.69 per hour, reflecting the value US Foods places on its team members. Beyond processing transactions efficiently, associates play a key role in inventory control, product presentation, and helping customers locate products. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience
  • Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to perform physical activities including standing continuously, walking frequently, lifting and carrying items weighing 1-100 lbs occasionally or frequently
  • Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule including holidays and weekends
  • Basic computer and cash handling skills
  • Ability to follow safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF'STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers
  • Perform sales and cash functions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner including scanning merchandise, weighing products, and resolving barcode discrepancies
  • Perform cart-to-cart transfer of products at checkout with visual inspection for product tampering
  • Perform duties as receipt checker by verifying cart content vs. purchases as customers leave the store
  • Perform store opening and/or closing functions at the front end based on assigned shift
  • Ensure a continuing focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage while assisting customers with product location
  • Assist in receiving inventory shipments and maintaining and stocking shelves with proper rotation and product quality audits
  • Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled with catch weight labels, blaster tags, and PLU tags
  • Replenish sales floor daily by down stocking freight using reach trucks and pallet jacks following FIFO principles
  • Utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software as needed
  • Ensure all products are accessible, visually appealing, and constantly available
  • Assist with price changes as directed by Pricing Lead and Store Management
  • Participate in inventory and cycle count processes as needed
  • Ensure the facility is well maintained, safe and clean including sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry area
  • Gather and return shopping carts from parking and cart corrals and ensure they are clean and operable
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Store Management.
