Job Description
We are a leading retail grocery store dedicated to providing customers with high-quality products and exceptional service. Our commitment is to create an enjoyable and memorable shopping experience for every guest who walks through our doors. We operate in a dynamic retail environment where customer satisfaction, product quality, and safety are prioritized to meet the evolving needs of our community. As part of our team, you will work in an inclusive and supportive workplace that encourages growth, teamwork, and professional development.
This part-time position offers a competitive starting pay of $19.66 per hour with a schedule ranging from 25 to 32 hours weekly. The role requires availability during weekends, holidays, as well as opening and closing shifts, which provides flexibility and opportunities for additional hours. Our store environment is fast-paced and customer-focused, ideal for organized and motivated individuals who thrive in retail settings.
Your primary responsibility as a Front End associate will be to ensure that every customer experiences the CHEF'STORE way—an approach emphasizing superior service and relationship building. This includes performing sales and cash handling functions efficiently using our POS system, managing accurate scanning and weighing of products, and conducting visual inspections to maintain product integrity at checkout. You will also assist customers as a receipt checker and perform front-end opening and closing duties.
On the sales floor and stocking side, you will be essential in maintaining an attractive and well-stocked selling environment. This involves managing inventory shipments, shelving products neatly with attention to quality and rotation, labeling merchandise appropriately, and replenishing stock from top storage. You will use equipment such as reach trucks and pallet jacks to ensure all products are accessible, visually appealing, and available to customers.
Customer courtesy and facility maintenance are important aspects of the role as well. You will be responsible for keeping the sales floor, restrooms, parking lot, and overall store premises clean and safe by following established safety guidelines and promptly addressing any hazards. Handling shopping carts and assisting in opening and closing procedures further support a smooth store operation.
The work environment is a retail store open to the public, which requires interaction with customers and coworkers at all levels. You should be prepared to work in varying temperature conditions and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and manual dexterity activities required for stocking and customer service duties.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 to 12 months of retail cashiering or stocking experience, with a preference for those with one year of retail selling or customer service background. A high school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Essential skills include excellent customer service, cash handling proficiency, basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work holidays, weekends, and varied shifts is also necessary.
This role offers opportunities for professional growth and overtime compensation as well as comprehensive benefits. These benefits include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement plans, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plans, and life insurance. Join our team to build your career in retail while contributing to a positive shopping experience for our valued customers.
