We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Event Coordinator for our Des Moines-Ankeny, IA store. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, to ensure a memorable, stress-free, and engaging experience for our guests. As an Event Coordinator, you will be instrumental in creating a vibrant, creative environment that appeals to clients of all ages. You will also provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, delivering a fast and friendly checkout, and supporting day-to-day store operations such as unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining clean and safe store conditions.
The position demands exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, a passion for working with children and families, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic retail setting. Event Coordinators are responsible for managing event logistics from start to finish, including communicating with clients and store teams, executing party add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and adapting plans based on guest feedback. Additionally, candidates will be cross-trained in custom framing sales and production and will assist with omnichannel retail processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children and children’s events
- Strong communication skills including verbal, written, and nonverbal

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously including children’s birthday parties and craft classes
- Engage with clients of all ages creating a fun and creative environment
- Demonstrate and instruct craft projects and activities such as face painting
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards
- Communicate event details with clients and store teams
- Perform store operational tasks such as truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and adhering to safety programs
- Assist customers with shopping, provide fast checkout experience, and support omnichannel processes including BOPIS and SFS
