This part-time role based in the Evansville, Indiana Michaels store emphasizes event coordination, customer service, and operational support. The position focuses primarily on planning, coordinating, and facilitating various in-store events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes. The goal is to create a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests of all ages, from young children to seniors. The Event Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering the brand promise by ensuring that all events meet company standards for organization, creativity, client satisfaction, and safety.

In addition to event planning, the role involves delivering excellent customer service by assisting shoppers in finding products and ensuring a fast, friendly checkout experience. The Event Coordinator also helps with operational tasks such as truck unloading, merchandise stocking, planogram compliance, and store recovery to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting store environment.

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events including children’s birthday parties and craft classes
  • engage with clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment
  • demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities such as face painting
  • facilitate and implement party add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards
  • communicate event details with clients and store team members
  • complete administrative tasks including answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork
  • adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs
  • create backup plans to address emergencies
  • ensure client satisfaction for all scheduled events
  • uphold company cleanliness and safety standards by setting up, breaking down, and cleaning before and after events
  • help customers shop and locate products
  • provide fast and friendly checkout experiences
  • promote rewards programs and enroll customers
  • assist with omni channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup In Store and Ship From Store
  • participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes
  • complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
  • support shrink and safety programs
  • adhere to company policies and legal compliance
  • interact respectfully and positively with others
  • cross train in custom framing selling and production
  • participate in daily store cleanliness including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom maintenance
