This part-time Event Coordinator role at Michaels in Epping, NH, is a dynamic position focused on planning, coordinating, and facilitating a variety of creative events within the store, including children’s birthday parties and multiple craft classes. The primary objective of this position is to ensure a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests by delivering exceptional event management and customer service. The Event Coordinator will skillfully manage multiple events simultaneously, ensuring that each party and class is executed according to company standards and provides a memorable creative experience for clients of all ages, ranging from young children to seniors.
Key responsibilities include planning and organizing event details such as craft projects, party add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and face painting activities. The coordinator will engage with clients, provide clear and friendly instructions during events, and communicate effectively with both clients and store team members. Administrative functions like answering emails, managing phone communications, and updating paperwork are also integral to this role.
In addition to event coordination duties, the coordinator will actively support store operations by assisting customers with product discovery and purchases, providing a fast and positive checkout experience, and promoting Michaels’ Rewards programs and private label credit cards. They will also contribute to inventory and merchandising tasks including truck unloading, stocking, planogram setup, and maintaining store cleanliness. The role demands adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures, ensuring a safe and welcoming retail environment.

Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events
- Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects, perform face painting and other activities
- Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
- Communicate events with clients and store team members
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork

- Create backup or emergency plans for events as needed

- Assist with Omni channel processes including BOPIS and Ship From Store
