Job Description
The ODP Corporation is a leading provider of products and services through a comprehensive and integrated business-to-business (B2B) distribution platform combined with a robust omnichannel presence. This presence spans world-class supply chain and distribution operations, a dedicated team of sales professionals, a user-friendly online platform, and a widespread network of retail stores under the Office Depot and OfficeMax brands. Headquartered with a focus on empowering businesses, professionals, and consumers, The ODP Corporation aims to help everyone achieve more every day by delivering a total solution that includes products, technology, services, furniture, and print offerings. The company is committed to creating a positive and collaborative work environment that values customer satisfaction, community engagement, and continuous improvement, all anchored by their 5C values: Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity.
The role of the Retail Team Lead (part-time) at Office Depot is a dynamic and integral position designed for individuals passionate about retail sales, exceptional customer service, and leadership in a retail environment. This role is responsible for providing total solutions to customers that encompass a range of product categories including technology, furniture, print services, and more. The Retail Team Lead will quickly establish trust and build strong relationships with customers by leveraging extensive product knowledge and specialized training to support and promote the company’s comprehensive sales offerings.
Beyond driving sales, the Retail Team Lead plays a vital role in shaping the store’s sales culture by nurturing an environment centered on client satisfaction and teamwork, while also maintaining the highest merchandising and visual standards. Key aspects of the position include managing freight and logistics activities efficiently to ensure smooth store operations. As a leader on the floor, this individual will provide guidance and coaching to associates, helping to foster a motivated and performance-driven sales team.
This role requires a customer-centric mindset and the ability to actively engage with both customers and the broader local community, thereby driving customer retention and reinforcing the store’s reputation as a trusted resource within the neighborhood. Additionally, the Retail Team Lead serves as a part-time 'Key Carrier,' which involves important responsibilities related to the opening and closing of the store, ensuring safety and security during those shifts, and performing Leader on Duty functions when necessary. The position demands reliability and integrity, including compliance with company policies and regular loss prevention protocols.
The Retail Team Lead at Office Depot is expected to be proficient with the retail Point of Sale (POS) systems and have a basic understanding of job-related technologies. Excellence in verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and adaptability in a fast-changing retail environment are essential qualities. This position also entails working collaboratively to identify opportunities for process improvements and contributes to increasing sales through a focus on customer conversion rates, average order value, and overall customer satisfaction.
This opportunity offers competitive pay, access to an attractive benefits package including a 401(k) plan, and clear pathways for professional growth within The ODP Corporation. Candidates are invited to apply promptly to join a company that values innovation, teamwork, and a relentless commitment to customer service excellence.
