The Store Manager Trainee position at ALDI offers a unique and exciting opportunity for driven individuals to begin a rewarding career in retail management. This full-time role is designed to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience to prepare trainees for managing their own ALDI store. Working approximately 45 hours per week, trainees earn a starting wage of $27.50 per hour, with the potential to earn up to $101,500 in the first year as a Store Manager, which includes salary and applicable bonuses. As a Store Manager Trainee, you will develop skills in leadership, operational management, customer service, personnel development, and sales growth. You will partner closely with experienced leaders and district managers, learning to lead store teams, drive operational excellence, resolve employee and customer concerns, and implement company strategies. The role requires a commitment to fostering a positive workplace atmosphere and collaborating effectively with store personnel, customers, vendors, and partners. Trainees will be involved in all aspects of store operations, including scheduling, compliance with policies and regulations, safety management, and inventory control. Job Requirements

At least 18 years old
high school diploma or equivalent preferred
prior retail experience
prior management experience
ability to work full-time
flexibility to travel within divisional requirements for training
ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 45 pounds
ability to work in varying temperature environments
ability to operate store equipment such as hand jacks, floor scrubber, cardboard baler
may require ServSafe or similar certification

Job Duties

Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports to ensure desired results
leads and develops store personnel
develops and implements action plans using company provided resources to improve operating results
oversees the appropriate resolution of employee and customer concerns, aligning with the district manager as needed
interviews candidates for store positions and provides recommendations to the district manager
manages personnel, recommending advancement and termination as appropriate
communicates, cooperates, and interacts effectively with all levels of ALDI personnel, customers, third-party vendors and business partners
collaborates in the resolution of any issues within the store to minimize potential liability
leads, develops, and supervises the team to develop sales, engage teams, satisfy customers and achieve high performance
understands and oversees execution of company strategy while modeling core values
fosters positive and collaborative working environment and promotes teamwork
oversees and manages compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
trains and develops store personnel using appropriate training materials
observes and evaluates employee work performance and provides feedback and coaching
ensures store personnel comply with customer service guidelines and demonstrate appropriate interactions
resolves concerns from personnel and customers independently or escalates as necessary
models, communicates and supervises compliance with company policies and procedures
ensures safe working environment by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment
prepares, manages and revises weekly schedules
ensures adherence to expense guidelines, inventory, product handling, and cash policies
maintains store zone and merchandising standards
acts to improve operational results and implements plans to achieve store KPI goals and budgets
attends and participates in meetings
plans and conducts store team meetings, management meetings and training sessions
