The Retail Food Service Manager position at Aramark Healthcare is located at BROWNHealth - Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI, two critical healthcare institutions where patient care and visitor comfort are paramount. This management role is responsible for overseeing retail dining and catering operations within these hospitals, ensuring that customers receive exceptional service and quality food options that meet their needs and tastes. The successful candidate will manage front-of-house operations, including cafeteria, food court, and quick service dining, while implementing strategies to boost customer satisfaction and enhance business profitability.
In this role, the Retail Food Service Manager spearheads the development and execution of retail services plans aimed at improving service quality and operational efficiency. The manager maintains effective working relationships across departments to create a seamless retail dining experience for customers. This includes supervising marketing, merchandising, and cash handling procedures, while ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards critical within healthcare settings. The role also involves direct supervision of staff, including hiring, disciplinary action, performance reviews, and initiating pay increases, fostering a motivated and productive team.
Moreover, the manager drives customer service excellence by actively tracking and responding to feedback from surveys and other communication channels. Financial responsibilities include forecasting, accounting support, and tracking sales trends to drive revenue growth. The role also encompasses overseeing catering operations, from menu planning and client coordination to staffing and event setup, utilizing tools like CaterTrax to manage services efficiently. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Food service management experience
- Ability to lead and supervise staff
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Willingness to become SERV Safe certified
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, influenza, MMR, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to start date
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Food service management experience required
- Retail food service management experience preferred
- Experience with marketing, merchandising and cash handling preferred
- Strong customer service and computer skills required
- SERV Safe certification preferred or willing to become certified
Job Duties
- Manage front of house (cafeteria, food court, quick service) dining operations
- Develop and implement retail services plan to improve service, quality and profitability of service areas
- Maintain effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified retail experience for customers
- Manage marketing, merchandising and cash handling procedures
- Ensure that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels in respective areas are met
- Maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
- Drive customer service and track and respond to survey results
- Directly supervise two or more employees with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and initiating pay increases
- Assist in location forecast and accounting
