The Retail Customer Service Representative (Pawnbroker) role at EZPawn offers an engaging position where team members work directly with customers to facilitate sales, loans, and extensions while ensuring a friendly, respectful, and customer-oriented environment. This role serves as the frontline in daily operations, impacting customer satisfaction and store success. Pay ranges from $11.00 to $13.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, reflecting a competitive wage package alongside generous bonus potential. With a structure designed for career advancement, team members start as Trainees in a paid 5-week training program, earning an immediate $0.50 raise and promotion to Pawnbroker on completion. Further development is available through the Pawnbroker Certification Program, which adds an additional $1.00 per hour and opens opportunities to move into leadership roles such as Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Manager) or even Store Manager in Training, supported by a comprehensive 12-week training initiative.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in customer service or retail preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Must be able to work well independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Knowledge of commonly pawned items is a plus
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Bilingual skills considered an advantage

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and interacting with them both in person and on the phone
  • Process sales transactions, pawn loans, and loan extensions accurately and efficiently
  • Perform opening and closing duties to ensure the store is prepared for daily operations and properly secured at the end of the day
  • Assist customers in reaching mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items including jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments
  • Maintain a friendly, courteous, and respectful environment that fosters customer loyalty and sets the store apart from competitors
  • Engage in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance skills and advance career within the company
  • Collaborate with team members to support store goals and provide exemplary service
