Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to lift frequently up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Physical stamina to perform continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to assist in multiple store areas as needed
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- For stock and fulfillment roles, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Commitment to adhere to all safety and operational protocols
Job Qualifications
- Clear and effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
- Accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Experience in retail or customer service is preferred
- Basic proficiency with technology and point-of-sale systems
- Ability to lift and handle bulky items safely
- Capability to follow operational and asset protection standards
Job Duties
- Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays runway ready
- Assist customers when cashiering with transactions across different platforms
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by organizing the salesfloor
- Keep the stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and ticketed
- Utilize expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program
- Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver merchandise to departments
- Fulfill customer orders timely following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customer orders maintaining quality and packing standards
- Utilize inventory management systems for processing and researching shipments
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms
- Provide support for special events, backroom organization, markdowns and relocating fixtures
