Job Description

SpartanNash, a proud member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies, is a leading food solutions enterprise that plays a vital role in delivering ingredients essential for a better life. As an integrated food distribution, wholesaling, and retailing company, SpartanNash operates a comprehensive global supply chain network that ensures grocery and household goods reach locations across all 50 states in the United States. Their extensive product offerings include fresh produce and the Our Family portfolio of products, catering to a diverse client base that ranges from national accounts and independent retailers to chain grocers, e-commerce platforms, U.S. military commissaries and exchanges, and their own network of brick-and-mortar grocery stores, pharmacies, and fuel centers.

SpartanNash’s workforce is wide-ranging, spanning a variety of roles including bakery managers, order selectors, IT developers, finance vice presidents, HR Business Partners, export specialists, and more. These team members work collaboratively to create exceptional customer experiences, supporting the company’s mission to foster braggingly happy customers. Their commitment to their employees is a notable aspect of their culture, which emphasizes career growth, safety, and a positive work environment.

Within the SpartanNash family, Needler's grocery stores stand out as community-focused retail locations where relationships truly matter. The company is currently accepting applications for various retail associate roles at its Carmel, Indiana location. Positions available include cashier, service associate, stock associate, produce associate, deli associate, bakery associate, grocery stocker, and meat department associate. These roles are designed for individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute immediately to the store’s ongoing success.

At Needler’s, the importance of a clean and safe workplace is paramount. They adhere to strict cleaning protocols, conduct daily health screenings for associates, and continually implement additional measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both the workforce and store guests. The company offers competitive wages and a 401(k) match, highlighting their commitment to providing fair compensation and financial security for their associates. Further benefits include career development and training initiatives, paid vacation opportunities, access to medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as a 10% associate discount on purchases.

Ideal candidates for these positions are those with a genuine customer-first mindset who bring a friendly, enthusiastic attitude to the workplace. Effective verbal communication skills and an approachable demeanor are highly valued, alongside a keen attention to detail—especially concerning product quality. Additionally, Needler's associates are expected to contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and enjoyable working environment.

SpartanNash operates on a 'People First' cultural philosophy, prioritizing associate development, recognition, two-way communication, and fostering a sense of belonging. They embrace equal employment opportunities across all demographics, including individuals with disabilities and veterans. While SpartanNash invests in the growth of all employees, they do not sponsor work visas for these positions.

If you are ready to join a dynamic team that values your contributions and supports your growth in a thriving food solutions company, SpartanNash invites you to apply. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established company that not only values community relationships but also supports a diverse range of career pathways in the retail grocery space.
