Job Description
Firehouse Subs is a well-established restaurant chain known for its dedication to hearty, flavorful subs and heartfelt customer service. Founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida, by brothers and former firefighters Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs has grown into a beloved brand that operates on principles of quality, community support, and public safety. The company prides itself on using the highest quality meats and cheeses to craft their signature sandwiches, which are piled high with generous portions that keep customers coming back. Firehouse Subs is also committed to giving back to the community through its non-profit organization, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which actively supports local first responders by funding lifesaving equipment. For three consecutive years, Firehouse Subs has been recognized as the top restaurant brand supporting local community activities, highlighting its strong presence and reputation within the communities it serves.
The Crew Member role at Firehouse Subs is essential to the day-to-day success of each restaurant location. This position requires individuals who are energetic, team-oriented, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Crew Members engage directly with guests by taking orders accurately, processing payments efficiently, and preparing delicious subs to the company’s standards. The role is frontline and customer-facing, making it crucial to the overall customer experience and operational success. Employees in this position enjoy competitive hourly wages starting at $15.49 per hour with additional tips, with overall compensation ranging from $16 to $17 per hour. They also benefit from free meals during their shifts, flexible scheduling options including day and night shifts, and opportunities for advancement within the company.
Working at Firehouse Subs means joining a friendly, family-oriented culture that supports its employees with leadership development, paid training, and a casual dress code that allows blue or black jeans paired with company-provided uniforms. Crew Members are expected to maintain excellent knowledge of the menu, communicate courteously and effectively with guests, and function as reliable team players. The role also involves participating in fundraising efforts for the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to community and public safety. Employees must be willing and able to perform a variety of restaurant duties, including cashiering and cleaning, as directed by management, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Overall, the Crew Member position offers a rewarding opportunity to develop valuable customer service and operational skills in a supportive and engaging work environment.
