The role of Restaurant Supervisor at Sodexo, located at the New England Aquarium, offers an exciting opportunity in the food and beverage operations space. This part-time position pays between $26 and $30 per hour and requires an individual with strong leadership qualities and operational expertise to oversee daily restaurant activities. Restaurant Supervisors play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of service, maintaining high operational standards, and delivering a positive guest experience. This position involves on-floor supervision of restaurant staff and collaboration with culinary teams and management to uphold service standards and operational efficiency within a fixed-location dining environment.

The candidate will be responsible for supporting opening and closing procedures, conducting pre-shift meetings to align the team on service expectations and menu updates, and assisting in the training and onboarding of new staff. A Restaurant Supervisor must possess the physical ability to lift and move weights frequently and be punctual and reliable in attendance. Duties may fluctuate depending on the specific restaurant concept, operational hours, and client needs. This dynamic role is vital for maintaining guest satisfaction and ensuring compliance with food safety and alcohol service regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
  • minimum of 2-4 years of experience in restaurant or food and beverage operations required
  • prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • must meet minimum age requirements to supervise alcohol service based on local and state regulations
  • must maintain a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification
  • must comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements
  • food handler certification may be required based on state or local regulations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide on-floor supervision of restaurant operations during assigned shifts
  • support opening and closing procedures including readiness of dining and service areas
  • conduct pre-shift meetings to review service expectations, menu updates, and assignments
  • support training and onboarding of restaurant staff
  • frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
