Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or foreign equivalency required
  • Minimum one year of restaurant experience required
  • Experience selling and serving wine and other beverage products required
  • Intermediate to advanced English skills required
  • Course or training in safety, environmental, public health and sanitation regulations needed
  • Must be able to stand and walk long distances
  • Ability to lift more than 25 pounds
  • Must pass basic safety course
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to live in close quarters onboard
  • Must participate in emergency drills
  • Must have full range of motion and visual, verbal, and hearing abilities
  • Must have professional appearance and maintain good hygiene

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year previous restaurant experience in land-based or shipboard operation
  • Minimum of one year previous experience selling and serving wine and other beverage products
  • Intermediate to advanced level English verbal and writing skills
  • High school diploma or foreign equivalency
  • Courses or training in safety, environmental, public health and sanitation regulations and procedures
  • Passionate about hospitality and customer service
  • Professional appearance and good hygiene
  • Respect for all co-workers and guests
  • Ability to work 7 days a week
  • Ability to develop camaraderie with team members

Job Duties

  • Turning over tables and promoting beverage service in the Buffet
  • Responsible for safeguarding all equipment and materials required for operation
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Escorting guests and/or resetting tables in Main Dining Rooms
  • Assisting waiters and assistant waiters with stocking, cleaning and maintaining waiter stations
  • Setting up mess rooms with food, beverage products, condiments, utensils, china, glassware and silverware prior to service
  • Maintaining food line and cleanliness of tables in Crew Mess
  • Cleaning and sanitizing food line, beverage dispensing machines and restocking at end of service
  • Setting up assigned Buffet station with equipment and mis-en-place
  • Cleaning tables in assigned Buffet station throughout service
  • Complying with sequence of service for beverage to ensure timely service
  • Performing side work such as silverware roll-ups, emptying trash and stocking/cleaning beverage station
  • Manning non-cooking buffet action stations such as carving or dessert stations
