Job Description

City Barbeque is a renowned restaurant chain specializing in authentic American barbeque. Established with a commitment to delivering high-quality, smoked meats and classic sides, City Barbeque has built a loyal customer base by embracing its core values and fostering a culture centered around safety, integrity, quality, and sustainable profitability. Through a combination of traditional barbeque techniques and modern operational efficiency, the company has grown to serve communities with a passion for good food and hospitality. City Barbeque's work environment emphasizes teamwork, respect, and long-term value for employees and customers alike. Safety is paramount, which is integrated into every aspect of daily operations, ensuring that everyone from kitchen staff to front-of-house teammates works in a secure setting.

The company operates under four core values that drive its business and workplace culture: putting safety first, treating others with integrity, fairness, and respect, delivering quality without compromise, and producing profit for long-term value. These values are not just slogans but are lived out in daily practice to create an atmosphere where employees feel valued and customers receive the best barbeque experience possible.

The Back of House (BOH) roles at City Barbeque are crucial to maintaining the high standards for food preparation and service that the brand is known for. These positions include Prep Cook, Boards (meat carvers), Pits (smokers), and Dish Washer. Each role contributes to the seamless preparation and presentation of the barbeque dishes, ensuring that every plate served meets the company’s exacting standards. Employees in these positions are expected to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness, food safety standards, and recipe accuracy.

City Barbeque offers an attractive employment package featuring competitive benefits designed to support its workforce. Employees enjoy opportunities for raises twice a year, free barbeque meals worth up to $2,400 annually, a 25% discount when not working, free uniforms and slip-resistant shoes, and paid vacation. In addition, there is a 401(k) match up to 4% of the salary, annual scholarship opportunities valued at $3,000, and flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available after a 60-day waiting period depending on eligibility, making City Barbeque a comprehensive employer that values the health and well-being of its teammates.

The ideal candidates for BOH roles are individuals who deliver excellent backyard-style hospitality, can work in a fast and independent manner, demonstrate versatility through cross-training across various stations, follow recipes and procedures strictly, and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation. They are team players who take initiative and willingly assist others to promote a positive and productive working environment. Daily responsibilities include punching in on time, completing food preparation tasks accurately and neatly, collaborating on take-out and catering orders, adhering to cleaning checklists, and maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude with colleagues and customers.

City Barbeque operates with an inclusive employment policy and participates in E-Verify to confirm work eligibility. This commitment to integrity extends to every part of their hiring and employment process, ensuring fairness and legality in their workforce management practices. Joining City Barbeque means becoming part of a family-oriented team dedicated to providing top-tier barbeque and excellent customer experiences while enjoying robust benefits and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
