Job Description

WarHorse Gaming, LLC is a leading company in the gaming and hospitality industry, known for delivering exceptional experiences through its diverse portfolio of casinos and entertainment venues. As an established player in the Omaha market, WarHorse Gaming prides itself on its commitment to creating enjoyable and memorable experiences for guests while fostering an inclusive, dynamic, and professional workplace for its employees. The company emphasizes its mission, vision, and core values to ensure an unparalleled level of service, quality, and innovation in all aspects of its operations.

The Restaurant Sous Chef position at WarHorse Gaming, LLC represents a critical leadership role within the culinary department, based in Omaha. This role is designed for a dedicated culinary professional who thrives in a high-energy, multi-outlet casino and hotel environment. The Sous Chef is responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food preparation and presentation meet the company's exacting quality standards. This role requires overseeing culinary staff, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and working collaboratively with Food and Beverage leadership. The Sous Chef plays a vital role in staff training, scheduling, and menu development, directly impacting the guest dining experience.

The hourly pay rate for this position is $26, reflecting the specialized skills and experience required in this supervisory role. Applicants must have open availability to accommodate the dynamic scheduling needs typical of the food service operations in a gaming and hospitality context. The Sous Chef not only leads and mentors culinary team members but also ensures that all procedures comply with health, safety, and gaming regulations, a crucial aspect given the nature of the casino environment.

In addition to managing daily kitchen operations, the Sous Chef assists in menu innovation by developing new dishes, recipes, and production guides, working closely with both front and back of house teams. This role also involves overseeing event and group setups, which are frequent in casino venues, requiring efficient planning and team coordination. Maintaining positive guest and employee relations forms a core part of the position to foster a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

The position requires a minimum of eight years’ culinary management experience within a large, multi-outlet casino or hotel environment and at least five years of supervisory experience. Candidates must hold relevant certifications including Food Handler, ServSafe, and, where applicable, TIPS Alcohol Certification. The ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License is mandatory. WarHorse Gaming supports its employees through a range of benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, a robust 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and company matching contributions, and a quarterly incentive program. Paid vacation, holiday, and sick leave further enhance the total compensation package, making this an attractive opportunity for culinary professionals looking to advance their careers in a thriving hospitality environment.
