Job Requirements

  • must be reliable and responsible
  • ability to speak spanish preferred
  • ability to read, listen, and communicate in english both verbally and in writing
  • basic math skills to understand measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
  • ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, mixers, etc.
  • ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
  • ability to perform duties in confined spaces
  • ability to remain on feet for long periods of time
  • ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
  • able to work mornings, swing, nights, holidays, and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in related field or 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • 2-year minimum in leadership role overseeing minimum of 5 people
  • ability to obtain any government required license or certificates
  • cpr certification or first aid training preferred
  • must obtain tabc & food handlers certification prior to beginning work

Job Duties

  • coordinate all food production needs and food presentation operations for the banquets
  • ensure the production of high quality food for the banquets as well as all other food outlets of moody gardens
  • maintain a high quality image through effective housekeeping, maintenance, and sanitation in areas of responsibility
  • maintain and evaluate existing food concepts and the development of creative new food concepts which ensure the highest quality food and profitability
  • operate within the budgeted guidelines, and maintain food cost percentages
  • orienting new employees for which you are in charge and coordinate internal training and developmental programs when appropriate
  • implement and support control procedures within the department
