Job Description

Shake Shack is an innovative and rapidly expanding hospitality brand known for delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences. Founded by Danny Meyer in New York City’s Madison Square Park, Shake Shack began as a humble hot dog cart that quickly gained popularity due to its commitment to quality and community. From those early beginnings, it has grown into a globally recognized restaurant chain that continues to emphasize hospitality, community involvement, and responsible business practices. The company distinguishes itself by focusing on its people—both team members and guests—and strives to create a positive work environment where everyone feels valued. Shake Shack’s philosophy, "Stand For Something Good," is reflected in its commitment to social responsibility, culinary excellence, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and growth.

As one of the fastest-growing hospitality companies, Shake Shack offers a dynamic and engaging workplace where employees can thrive and develop their careers. Whether working in the kitchen, front of house, or in management positions, team members are provided with hands-on mentorship, ongoing training, and ample opportunities for advancement. The company values diversity and inclusiveness and supports an environment where each individual can bring their best self to work every day. Working at Shake Shack means becoming part of the #ShackFam—a community-oriented team dedicated to making meaningful impacts on the neighborhoods they serve.

The Restaurant Shift Manager role at Shake Shack is a pivotal position within the restaurant team, responsible for overseeing the flow of service to ensure guests receive top-notch experiences every time they visit. This leadership position involves directing team members during shifts, managing safety, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food quality and speed are consistently achieved. The manager plays a critical role in building and leading a high-performing team of hourly employees, contributing not only to day-to-day operations but also to the long-term success of the restaurant.

Shift Managers support operational activities including purchasing, receiving, and inventory management to maintain efficient restaurant functions. They take part in employee recruitment and play a role in fostering positive employee relations, helping to create a supportive and productive work environment. This position demands strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and certified knowledge of local food safety regulations. By joining Shake Shack as a Shift Manager, individuals will have the chance to develop their leadership skills while contributing to a brand that stands for quality, community, and a fun, inclusive culture.

This role is perfect for motivated individuals who are passionate about hospitality and eager to grow within a leading restaurant company that prioritizes its people.
